You’ve noticed that we do a wide range of Jams and Chutneys, and you want to pair them with cheeses, but you don’t know how?

The wide variety of complimentary flavours and textures in a cheese board are one of the many attributes to consider when creating a mouth-watering platter for your guests to enjoy. They are completely versatile, and everyone loves them!

The ultimate secret to a good cheeseboard is variety. You want your guests to praise your hosting skills with the ultimate consideration of their range of tastes. Cheeseboards can come in all shapes and sizes whilst adding fruits, preserves, breads, Pâté or even a few slices of charcuterie as well as at least four different types of Cheese can enhance the evening for your guests perfectly.

It is said when serving jam with cheese in combination, it is better to cool the jam and serving dish or bowl in which it will go: this gesture will keep it fresh in appearance and flavour, while the cheese should always be at room temperature. The same goes for Chutney’s when including them in a cheeseboard. Chutney’s have a more acidic and tangy flavour to them giving a nice contrast from the sweetness that Jams give off.

Jams and Chutney’s ultimately make a great combination in terms of creating the perfect cheeseboard to impress anyone. Here is our list of Dundarave’s finest preserves paired with our chosen Cheese, making each bite a delicious one.

  1. Summer Red Pepper and Tomato Relish – Creamy Brie
  2. Spiced Plum and Damson Jam – Creamy Blue Cheese
  3. Gamekeepers Chutney – Mature Cheddar
  4. Caribbean Pineapple Rum Chutney – Wensleydale Cheese
  5. Lemon and Champagne Marmalade – Mascarpone Cheese
  6. Plum and Elderberry Jam – Gouda Cheese

Keep in mind that the main goal to serving the ultimate memorable cheeseboard is to offer tastes that compliment each other. Prior to an event or an occasion, the board can be assembled up to four hours ahead. Make sure to keep it loosely covered in the fridge and remove from the fridge 30-60 minutes before serving.
